About
Ellie Cullen is an Irish artist based in North Tipperary, Ireland.
Her work blurs the boundaries between Fine Art and Design, exploring the relationship between objects and space. She uses a range of materials including ready-made and upcycled items, to create her opulent and often dramatically decorative pieces.
Ellie graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Fine Art (Painting). In 2019, she graduated from the National College of Art and Design after completing her masters degree in Design History and Material Culture. Ellie is currently studying a certificate in 'The Principles of Art Therapy' at Crawford, Munster Technological University.
She is currently facilitating art workshops in primary schools in the North Tipperary, Laois, and Offaly area under the Teacher Artist Partnership+ (TAP+) Residency 2024 programme, an initiative of Creative Youth 2023-27 under Creative Ireland, led by the Department of Education in Ireland. The purpose of this programme is to enhance arts and creativity in primary and special schools. Visit Ellieβs YouTube channel for videos of previous school projects.
Ellie has previously worked in the library sector in Ireland as well as in galleries and museums in both Dublin and New York City.
